Summer Singing

It’s been almost a year since lockdown officially ended and my various singing groups and choirs were able to return and meet together again.

I remember getting into my car back in July 2021, excited about heading down to Elleray Hall for the first ‘in-person’ Good Morning Choir session for 16 months. Suddenly, a thought rushed into my mind - would anyone actually come?! In my eagerness to dust-off the lyric booklets, plan the warm-ups and put together music for the session, I hadn’t actually given much thought to who might come along. Thankfully, my worries were soon put to rest. 15 wonderfully keen singers came along to make the morning even more special than I had first envisaged.

Since then, all other singing activities have slowly, but surely, been welcoming back old and new singers. It is always wonderful to hear how people feel after an hour or so of singing together; the mental health benefits are profound and, often, completely unexpected.

I hope to welcome more of you to one of my choirs in the near future.
